What actually changes on the report
An expunction destroys the government records that screening vendors compile, and licensed vendors are required to stop reporting expunged cases; a nondisclosure order cuts private employers off the same way. Post-order, the report simply omits the case — no asterisk, no 'sealed' notation, nothing to explain.
Just as important: after expunction, Texas law lets you answer 'no' to arrest questions in nearly every context. The application, the interview, and the background report finally tell the same story.
